About Me

Welcome to my corner of the web devoted to the mighty Bantams! For my sins I’ve been watching Bradford City regularly since 1987. I think my love of football was ignited by watching the Mexico 86 World Cup on TV and when it finished I started pestering my parents to let me go see my local team, which just happened to be Bradford City. My dad hated football (I think this stems from him being forced to watch Park Avenue as a child) and he wouldn’t take me to Valley Parade plus it was decided I was too young to go by myself.
After many months my parents finally relented and let me go to my first game, a dull 0-0 draw at home against Barnsley in the old Second Division on the 21st March 1987. I didn’t really get hooked on City until I went to my next game, a 3-2 win at home against Sunderland the following month. This was the first time I’d stood on the Kop, the first time I’d seen them score a goal and the first time I’d seen them win! It doesn’t get much better than this and I haven’t looked back since. The following season 1987/88 when we lost to Middlesbrough in the Play-offs, I actually went to every single home game…..and now more than 25 years later not much has changed, the players and managers come and go but my love for the club has never diminished!
