Phil Parkinson on the Bristol Rovers draw

Parkinson said: “The way we responded today after receiving set-back after set-back was absolutely magnificent. If you take into consideration the amount of games we’ve had recently, the weather, the long journey down and everything else, that was something worth crediting from the boys today. Despite deserving all three, it’s a good point for us. Even two-one down at half-time, I still felt we could win the game. Every time we went forward I felt we looked threatening. We obviously started slowly, conceding from the first attack of the game, but overall I felt it was a game we dominated. Scoring three times away from home – it’s a game we should really have won.”

“It was so important that our two strikers have scored today, especially James Hanson. He needed that goal. His overall play has been good for us recently, but all strikers need goals. In his defence, since Reidy (Kyel Reid) has been out we probably haven’t got enough quality crosses in the box. But Tommo’s (Garry Thompson) cross was first class today and the big man was there where it mattered to stick it in the back of the net.”
