Dominic Rowe leaves Bradford City by mutual consent

Bradford City have announced today that midfielder Dominic Rowe has now left the club after his City contract was cancelled by “mutual consent.” The 19-year-old was under contract until the end of the season but he was told in May by Phil Parkinson that he was free to find a new club. I know that Rowe has recently played in a friendly for Blue Square Bet Premier side Barrow – where he 10 games on loan last season. A graduate from the Bantams youth system, Rowe made his debut as a second-half substitute against Southend United in March 2011. His only other run out was when he started City’s last game of that  season against Crewe Alexandra.

Also on the move this week is former Bantams loanee Billy Paynter, who has signed for league One side Doncaster Rovers on a free transfer from Leeds United. The 28-year-old played 15 games (4 goals) for City after joining on loan from Southend United back in February 2007.

Finally talking of former Bantams, Simon Eastwood (who recently signed a contract with Bradford (Park Avenue)) has signed on non contract terms for League One side Portsmouth. The 22-year-old keeper spent last season at neighbours FC Halifax town, but manager Neil Aspin decided not offer him a new contract . The former England U18 and U19 International joined Bradford City on loan from neighbours Huddersfield Town at the start of the 2009/10 season until the end of the year. He went onto play for us 28 times before Stuart McCall sent him back to the Galpharm Stadium.
