Former Liverpool striker Callum Pilkington signs for Stoke City

This story is about 3 weeks old now but I thought it was worth a mention as Pilkington was one of the youngsters that Bradford City were hoping to eventually receive a pay-out from one day. 16-year-old striker Callum Pilkington has signed a three-year deal with Premier league side Stoke City, this includes a two-year scholarship and a one-year professional contract. The youngster has spent the last two seasons at Liverpool after joining them from Bradford City for an undisclosed fee in May 2010.

Pilkington joined the Bantams centre of excellence at the age of 10 and he was eventually was spotted by a scout from Liverpool whilst he was playing for the City junior side. He was invited to take part in a six-week trial, training sessions and matches with the club’s U15 team which resulted in his signing for the Anfield side.

Finally I was just reading on twitter that former Bantam Chris Mitchell has signed for Scottish Second Division side Queen of the South on a 12-month contract. Good luck Chris :)
