The title of this post isn’t exactly true but…anyway the club confirmed this morning that Guy Branston had: “left the Coral Windows Stadium after his contract with the football club was terminated by mutual consent.” The 33-year-old defender still had a year remaining on his current deal but it was clear that Parkinson didn’t see a future for him at the club. Branston tweeted: “I can say its been a pleasure to play for #bcafc Massive club with great fans hope you get promo this season. If you need me am here.” Branston made 19 appearances for the Bantams last season after joining from Torquay United and he also played four games during a loan spell at Rotherham United.
Then within a couple of hours it was announced that he had joined League Two rivals Aldershot Town on a 12-month deal (his 18th club apparently). Branston is quoted as saying: ”I have always believed in my ability. There are no flaws in my game that I can see. Managers know what they’re getting with me. I am consistent and train hard every day and work to my maximum.” I like 99% of City fans would like to wish him all the best for the future & I look forward to his return to Valley Parade next March
