The Ramsden Return live on Sky Sports 1 tonight

Bradford City right-back Simon Ramsden will hopefully make his long-awaited return for the Bantams tonight when they take on League One side Sheffield United in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Area Quarter-Final at Bramall Lane. The 29-year-old defender will be included in the squad for the game that will broadcast live on Sky Sports 1, kick off 7:45pm.

The 29-year-old defender, who has been plagued by calf and groin problems since the start of last season, played for an hour in a 1-0 win over Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park on Tuesday afternoon. Phil Parkinson said: “It is great for him because he’s had a long road to get to this stage in his recovery. He played in the reserve fixture last week and got 60 minutes under his belt, so he will come back into contention. Simon’s return will certainly be a boost for everyone at the club.”

Kyel Reid will miss the game as the 23-year-old midfielder received his fifth yellow card of the season in Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to Cheltenham and sits out a one-match ban. Finally I wouldn’t be surprised if Jon McLaughlin, Jamie Devitt, Steve Williams, Jack Compton & Ross Hannah all returned to the starting line-up.
