Chris Elliott signs for Harrogate Town

Blue Square Bet North side Harrogate Town have signed former Bradford City goalkeeper Chris Elliott. The 18-year-old is no stranger to the club, as he had a period on loan the CNG Stadium last season and he also spent three-months at neighbours Harrogate Railway.

Newcastle born Elliott was released by Peter Jackson in May, 12 months after signing his first professional contract with the club.

Finally talking of keepers, City are taking a look at former Macclesfield Town and Walsall stopper Jonny Brain and ex-Wolves trainee Billy Lumley.

Lumley took part in a practice match at Apperley Bridge on Monday, while Brain is expected to feature in City’s first pre-season fixture of the summer at Silsden this evening

Rhys Evans, who played at Matlock, is no longer with the club. But like Jonny Brain, he is still under consideration for the second keeper’s spot behind Jon McLaughlin. (from the T&A)
